- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
2. Whisk together dry ingredients, stir in cocoa mixture and eggs
3. Beat in buttermilk, vanilla and nuts
4. Spread in large cookie sheet.. approx 13" x 17"
5. Bake in 375º oven for 20 minutes.
Topping:
- 454 g bag of miniature marshmallows
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 3 cups rice krispies
2. Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in microwave for 1 minute, stir in rice krispies and spread over cooled cake. Chill in fridge to set the topping.
3. This cake freezes well.

ReplyDeleteBetty, this would have been a great recipe for me to 'whip' up this weekend had it been a 'normal' one....the weekend that is :o) Love the simplicity of it yet the chocolately moistness I know it has. Cool topping....that would definitely be a hit! By the way...the title? Did I miss something? Where did the title come from?!
